The RETeval® is a handheld visual electrophysiology device that allows your doctor to detect functional stress in the retina and optic nerve pathways using electroretinography (ERG) and visual evoked potential (VEP) assessments. Testing is comfortable, simple, and efficient, using adhesive electrodes to record the electrical impulses from the back of the eye when stimulated by a flash of light. These assessments can help your doctor detect and manage diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and inherited and acquired retinal dystrophies.
Diabetic retinopathy — often before visible damage is seen
Retinal and optic nerve disorders
Inherited retinal conditions
Unexplained vision changes or vision loss
Glaucoma risk assessment
🩺 This test gives us a functional view of how your retina is working — something a standard vision test or retinal photo can’t show alone.
Quick, comfortable, and non-invasive
Ideal for patients with diabetes, unexplained vision symptoms, or those being monitored for retinal health
Helps catch problems early, even before you notice changes in vision
Useful for tracking treatment effectiveness over time
